"Stray Light in Rafah" is an audio interpretation of what the Palestinian town has endured over the past decades, particularly in recent years. It opens with a sample of Austin's ambiance I recorded on the walk back to my hotel at 2 am, which I've shaped into dead radio frequencies. I started working on it in March during SXSW alongside another instrumental piece, building it from processed, sampled textures and slow-building atmosphere rather than a conventional structure. It sits closer to cinematic work than to a song.
